  1. This definitely was not what I expected of AHS, I was fairly young in the 80’s but old enough to understand what was going on as a teenager. While I definitely didn’t live the horror of a gay man, I had a sibling who was a hemophiliac, and had a hemophiliac friend in high school who not only died of AIDS, but all four of his brothers as well. His parents lost all four of their children to contaminated blood. My brother was found to have the same blood in the refrigerator and it was by grace he was found to have not received an infusion yet.

Watching AHS, at first I was disappointed because it wasn’t the typical AHS I was expecting plus it was just so depressing and just bringing back all of the sadness of my lost friend and his brothers, and I have a gay son and although the gay community still struggles, I am so grateful to see how far they have come since the 80’s, same as how far AIDS and HIV has come. Yep, AHS did a beautiful job telling this story and in such an impactful way. The reality is that was a true horror, The story needed to be told and hit a wider audience than it would have if it hadn’t been the AHS audience. That said, I hope this isn’t going to be the new format from here on out.

  2. This season was super boring, and hella confusing. I couldn’t even watch the last two episodes. I just gave up when Theo saw all those gay deers. Done.

  3. Im sorry but AHS is just becoming more gayer and its losing its greatness and becoming more disappointing. The season before was just dumb. I saw the first half of last season but couldn't bring myself to watch the second half because of stupid plot lines. I bet this was the least watch out of the entire series of AHS. Season 11 was made only for the lgbq community and not for all fans.

  4. Overall I didn't like it. I wanted there to be some glimmer of hope with the Adam character but we don't know if he died from AIDS too or what. One great take away was hearing Patti Lapone sing "I'm Calling You" at the end of episode 7. Great rendition to a good song.

  5. For all of us who lived through that time… this was so bleak and awful. I kept hoping that they'd subvert the horror of reality with something a bit ridiculous. This season left me feeling devastated.

  6. Hey guys, hello from Brazil! I loved the whole season's concept. The story is touching, the characters are well constructed, and it brings a true representation of what the AIDS virus means to our community, with a little touch of sensuality, sodomy, and horror.

I have to say that in some parts I was confused whether Big Daddy was real (a ghost maybe?) or not; there were a few moments where he would interact with some characters in a way that you would think he was real indeed—when Adam, Gino, and Patrick were attacked in Fire Island, for instance. In that scene, Big daddy was shot, all the characters saw him, and they were going to call the police, but then, he was nowhere to be found.

In my opinion, that is a plot hole, because if he is only a representation of of the virus (lurking around like a death angel waiting to kill you), how would he interact with other characters in such a real way? I love the entire rest of it. Thank you guys for reading my humble comment until the end of it. I want to know your opinions, guys.

  7. I've loved every season of AHS but this one. I hated this one. It was like a documentary about the virus and no twists or turns or supernatural about it. I really hated it truly

  8. This seasons was good but If I see it as a non AHS series then it was great! I was hoping for something else when it comes to AHS but this was good and the end progression was intense and it was extremely sad to see that almost none of the main cast made it at the end.

  9. Living through this period of time this was so on the mark. I saw friends die with those Kaposi sarcoma tumors unable to stand without canes…took me back to that time and the friends I lost. Great job portraying that era.

  10. Overall Ryan Murphy, as usual, does a great job telling this story. With that said it definitely ranks in the bottom two or three of AHS…Bottom two for sure.

  11. Though this season was very well done in many ways, the black community was hit hard during that time with AIDS and HIV. Yet there was little to no diversity in the whole season.
